Quell x Lowcard Release Party

On March 7th we opened up the RVCA "Skate Space" for a Quell Skateboarding x Lowcard Mag release party. Quell is an independently run women's skateboarding media platform out of Brooklyn, NY.  Their goal is to provide access into the past, present and future of women in skateboarding.  Lowcard is always a pleasure to work with and they continue to support women in skateboarding via their magazine.  It was a no brainer that these two collaborated on a t-shirt! Obviously most ramp sessions get pretty hectic, especially when there are a bunch of dudes skating.  Quell took charge and got the boys off the ramp and gave the girls a good hour or so to skate and it was a pretty amazing sight to see.  So many skaters were killing it and some of them were dropping in for the first time!

At one point just skating the ramp was not enough so someone decided to backflip off the extension!

Which of course opened up the opportunity for him to be one upped.  So this girl pulled a backflip on the flat bottom!  Everyone went crazy!

Drinks were provided by Budweiser, BABE and Health Ade Kombucha..which made for some good photo ops.

Thank you to our sponsors:  RVCA, Quell Skate, Lowcard Mag, Nike SB, BABE, Health Ade and Budweiser!  We had a blast!

BBQ at the Pump Track with RVCA

KCDC Pump Track and BBQ
Presented by RVCA

                                                                                                     Video by Angel Delgado

On Saturday September 25th we partnered up with RVCA and Old Blue Last to throw a skate jam and BBQ at the Pump Track in Domino Park, Williamsburg.  The day couldn't have been more perfect and we were so hyped with the turnout! With burgers flipping and beverages pouring skaters took to the pump track for some good old fashioned racing fun.  Steve Rodriguez and Kader Sylla MC'd the event and were the masterminds behind each individual contest, if you could even call it a contest.  It was more like a free for all, get yours or someone else will type of jam.  Huge thanks to RVCA for making this whole day possible and Old Blue Last for providing the beverages!  Thank you to everyone who came out, we love our skateboard community!  Check out the photo recap below for more from the day!

KCDC x RVCA Skate Night Recap

KCDC <3 RVCA

"A Match Made for Skating"

Last month, on Valentines Day, we hosted our annual skate night, which doubled as our first annual skate night with RVCA at Rough Trade NYC, and if you didn't attend...you blew it!  Drinks, skateboards, live music, speed dating, ping pong tournament and a couple of security issues included all contributed to a very memorable night.  Our boy Brandon set the mood on the turn tables while everyone barged the mini ramp built by Pat Smith from Coda Skateboards.  Upstairs, Jenkem Mag held sign up's for Speed Dating while participants battled each other in a ping pong tournament.  Our friends from the band Slashers closed out the night with a heavy set that fueled the energy in the room, eventually leading to someone trying to drop in off the balcony.  Once he got kicked out of course someone else had to give it a go!  Security wasn't having it but all in all what else do you expect when theres a mini ramp in a room full of skateboarders?  Huge thanks to everyone who came out.  Also big thanks to RVCA, Jenkem Mag, NY Skateboarding, Slashers, Rough Trade NYC for helping make this happen!  We had a blast and we hope you did too!
